According to an Axios report on Wednesday night, U.S. officials have received warnings from Panama’s Foreign Minister that 60,000 Haitian illegals migrants are heading to the United States through Latin America.
Erika Mouynes, the Foreign Minister of Panama, indicated that more than 85,000 migrants have passed through Panama this year; many overwhelmed the U.S. border at the Del Rio International Bridge. The majority of those Del Rio migrants were allowed to remain in the United States; likely, more will come seeking the same. Mouynes indicated that 60,000 of the migrants passed through Panama are still en route to the United States and will be encouraged by President Biden’s reluctance to deport illegal immigrants.
Additionally, there are 30,000 waiting near the Columbia border to enter Panama; most presumably will attempt to reach the United States.
Mouynes accuses the Biden administration of ignoring previous warnings from Panama – a crucial U.S. ally in Central America – about the mass illegal immigration. “We sounded the alarm when we should have,” said Mouynes of previous attempts to warn the U.S. of the phenomenon. Ultimately the caravan-style migrants hope to obtain residency, welfare benefits, and citizenship in the United States. Still, their presence imposes a toll on U.S. allies such as Panama and Mexico, who are forced to deal with large groups of homeless migrants.
Mounyes while in Washington D.C. on Monday seeking cooperation from Alejandro Mayorkas and officials from the Biden administration on deterring caravan-style migration. “We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this,'” she told Axios of her efforts.
Biden broke the all-time record for illegal immigrant encounters in a year on Wednesday. The illegal migrants logged in the books are being detained – for a short time – it’s a despicable distinction to set the record for apprehensions. The flow of illegals coming into the United States indicates the spoils of Biden’s “America Last” immigration and border policy.
