The COVID-19 vaccine has been distributed across the United States, yet the White House officials are yet satisfied. Constant demands that more Americans get vaccinated come from President Biden.
Currently, 37.5% of Americans have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and nearly half the country (47.5%) has received at least one dose.
Joe Biden announced the rideshare companies Uber and Lyft would be giving free rides to push more vaccines. The free rides are for anyone who chooses to get vaccinated between May 24th and July 4th. Lyft and Uber are seemingly trying to help Biden reach his goal to have 70% of Americans vaccinated by Independence Day.
In a tweet by President Biden on May 13th, he threatened endless masking for Americans who choose not to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
There have been many talks of forced vaccination around the country; many argue that it would be entirely legal to do so. The FDA had not approved a single COVID-19 vaccine.
To the dismay of many public health experts, polling indicates that 1 in 4 Americans refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
Biden and many others have repeated threats and bribes in an attempt to encourage mass vaccination. With supply outpacing demand, there is a slowdown of Americans receiving the vaccine.
The bribes and threats may work for some; perhaps others have decided that enough is enough.
